Yerena has collaborated on many thought provoking projects which include artists Zack de la Rocha, Shepard Fairey, Manu Chao, Ana Tijoux, Chuck D to name a few. Highly recognized for his activism, Yerena is the founder and curator of the Alto Arizona Art campaign (2010) as well as a founding member of the We Are Human campaign (2009). In 2008 Yerena created the Hecho Con Ganas publishing project in which he produces politically and socially conscience images that are produced in limited edition silkscreen prints. Through his brazen imagery, the artist brings political concerns to light with subject matter that depicts cultural icons, rebels and everyday people voicing their stance against oppression. His work depicts his frustrations with the oppression in his community as well as creating work in solidarity with the community in the defense of dignity and rights. Ultimate Ears unveils 'Rabbit Eye Movement' Limited Edition UE BOOM 2 Bluetooth speaker.Coincidentally, this holiday occurs on the same day as Halloween (October 31) - the skulls can work for both, really. UE BOOM 2 is a compact, durable wireless Bluetooth speaker manufactured by Ultimate Ears, a subsidiary of Logitech, that offers 360-degree soundstage effect. This limited edition version of the waterproof speaker features 'Oaxacan sugar skulls' which are commonly used as decoration for Mexico's "Dia De Los Muertos" (which translates to " Day of the Dead"). It retains the same 15-hour battery life and long 100 foot range, but adds a new design by a famed artist. Today, Ultimate Ears announces an all-new limited edition version called 'Yaqui Day of the Dead'. Not only is the Bluetooth speaker rugged and well-designed, but it produces satisfying audio too. But for casual listening, most people will be quite happy with how the Boom 2 sounds.The company's UE BOOM 2 is a personal favorite. But hit the speaker with some heavier bass - Miguel's "Coffee" for instance - and things get a little rough around the edges. It's strongest in the midrange (vocals), so tracks like Sam Hunt's "Take Your Time" or Laura Marling's "Strange" sound quite clean and powerful. By that I mean that if you're standing 5 to 10m away from the two speakers, the Boom 2 sounds fuller and better overall.Īs comparatively excellent as the Boom 2 sounds, it still exhibits the performance shortcomings that all these compact Bluetooth speakers exhibit - even the best ones like the Boom 2. The Charge 2+ also sounds good outdoors, but it doesn't have the range that the Boom 2 does. (Remember, too, that the step-down saucer-shaped UE Roll, also half the price of the Boom 2, remains a great option.) However, those speakers are more directional while the Boom 2 casts a wider sound field - UE touts its 360-degree sound - and really excels in outdoor listening tests. If you're on a budget, the JBL Charge 2+ or the step-down Flip 3 (half the price of the Boom 2) are arguably the better values. The JBL couldn't play as loud, but it's a little warmer speaker with boomier bass (the Boom 2's bass is punchier) and some people may prefer its sound. We next put it up against the JBL Charge 2+, which retails for about $70 less.
